Sahian Cruz is a doctoral student of School Psychology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She hails from eastern Washington, where she grew up in the microcosm of the orchard in which her family worked. Sahian is a first-generation college student and a second-generation Mexican immigrant. She graduated from the University of Washington in 2020, where she studied psychology and French. Sahian’s research interests include Latinx adolescent mental health, culturally-centering family engagement in schools, ancestral healing in interventions, and Liberation Psychology.
